October 2023 Update from Pollyanna
October 2023

Dear Friend,

October is a big month for Conferences, Conversations, and the Teen Council! Each of these opportunities are ways to build stronger, more inclusive communities by making stronger connections with each other. We hope you will consider joining us!

Conferences
Tatnall School will host its first Pollyanna Conference on October 14, and kick off our 2023-24 conference season. Harvard-Westlake will follow with its seventh Pollyanna Conference and San Francisco Friends Schools will close out October with its first conference. Throughout the rest of the year, we will have conferences in Hockessin, Los Angeles, New York, Pasadena, San Diego, Short Hills, St. Louis, and Toronto. We have already started booking new schools for the 2024-25 season. Please look at our site for additional information and reach out to book your school’s conference.

Conversations
On October 10 we will launch an exciting series of workshops with inspiring facilitators for faculty, administrators, communications, admissions, and development professionals. And for schools, we’re offering one price that invites all of your employees to attend one or all the sessions. Each hour-long workshop will be conducted over Zoom and will offer insights, resources, and strategies about essential DEIB-related topics in our school communities. Please click here to see the full schedule and descriptions, and to register your school. We've just added a 9th workshop for Admissions professionals!

Council
The Teen Council kicks off on October 15 with a discussion on How to Prioritize Your Mental Health with guest Dr. Linda Anderson. The Council is for 13-18 year olds from across the U.S. who are committed to helping their schools become more inclusive. We hold monthly one-hour meet-ups on Zoom. Please share this with the teens in your life and ask them to join us.

Look forward to seeing you this month!

Warmly,
