| | Dear Friend, We recently celebrated Pollyanna's 9th Anniversary, and the experience was nothing short of inspiring. Our Teen Council Leaders stood before us, sharing their powerful stories and heartfelt insights, reminding us all why Pollyanna’s mission is more crucial than ever. One of them beautifully expressed, “In these deeply divided times, it’s essential to create space for meaningful conversations. Pollyanna provides those spaces.” We invite you to join this vibrant community—whether through our events, workshops, Teen Council meetups, and conferences. Together, we can continue to Build Stronger and Kinder Communities. Warmly, | | | | | | | 2024-25 Pollyanna Workshop Series The 2024-25 Pollyanna Workshop Series kicks off in just a few short weeks! You may always reach out to us info@pollyanna-us.org Student Journal is Introduced We seek to foster the critical voices of students in education whereby students are agents of their own learning and can use their whole self to produce knowledge. The Journal, Student Pedagogies of Asian America, recognizes the importance of addressing the inequities of power, status, socioeconomics, the education system, and more. Like feminist theory, critical student pedagogy starts with the lived experiences of young people who see their agency as key to changing education as liberation. They see the need for a platform where they can discuss progressive topics, share academic ideas, creative writings and art, as well as their vision for a better, justice-oriented world. The journal—written by students and for students—reflects their needs and trends. They desire to have their voices matter, and their stories heard. Please consider submitting your writings (guidelines and submission form) to this exciting new journal. | | | | I’ve followed Pollyanna from the start, but hearing the Teen Council for the first time was truly inspiring. These student leaders were shining examples of young people with strong values and powerful voices. Their words left a lasting impression, reinforcing the incredible work Pollyanna is doing. — Angelina Vieira, 9th Anniversary Breakfast attendee | | | | | | | | | | Pollyanna, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation 501(c)(3). © 2024 Pollyanna | New York, NY 10075 | | | | | | |
